Girlsnmotors Second Official Meet @ Hollywood Bowl Stevenage
After the success of the first girlsnmotors meet it was decided that it was such an enjoyable experience what with nearly getting ourselves banned from Pizza hut and immediately after throwing ourselves along with other members down the bowling isles at the Hollwood Bowl in Stevenage that a repeat performance had to be done, especially as other members had missed out on the larking about.
So after many weeks of careful planning and a lot of hard work by Alanna the second meet date was decided and the bowling lanes were booked (and primed with EXTRA SLIPPERY WAX in advance I'm sure) and Pizza Hut were warned to invite only the hardest of their staff to work the night.
After much anticipation the meet date finally arrived, 30th April 2005 a date that will, I am very sure be logged in the history books alongside infamous dates such as the battle of hastings (1066 for those that don't know) as another Girlsnmotors mayhem meet, and mayhem it was.
Heavily pregnant and feeling a little under the weather Paula dragged herself, in spirit at least, into the car and off we set to pick up Brett and his friend Rach, after doing this we swiftly (but not too swiftly bearing in mind the health of my beloved partner) made our way to the leisure park where the fun and games were about to begin.
First stop was the bar next to the bowling halls as we knew (don't ask us why we knew but we did strangely) that we would most likely find the hardcore drinking members emptying the bar, thank god for the bar staff that we turned up when we did they seemed to be desperately ordering barrels of Jack Daniels ... not quite sure who for though (Andy).
Everyone who had said they would turn up to the meet did people travelled to the Hollywood Bowl Stevenage from ALL over the country as far down as Eastbourne and down from Norwich amongst many other places. As soon as we were all ready and present we made our way quickly across to the Pizza Hut where our tables were all more or less ready thanks to the pre booking (well done Alanna) as soon as we sat down the Girlsnmotors mob all got their orders in quickly and smoothly.
Lots of respect to the waiter in Pizza Hut he must have thought he wasn't going to see tomorrow what with us rabble in there making demands left right and centre, the bill came to a whopping £175 or there abouts (beware if you come to the next meet we will be puling straws as to who will be paying) and I gae the waiter a nice tenner tip for his troubles ... his eyes lit up accordingly as would anyone, that must have been his weeks wages lol
So onto the pierre de resistance of the night .. the Hollywood Bowl experience ... the highlight of the night, before we made it to the lanes along sneaked in a suprise visitor in the shape of Red (the sneaky bar stool), as soon as we all got to the lanes we were quickly divided into two teams and bowling commenced.
Dirtsmurf and Kat quickly stamped their authority bowling at levels far above and beyond everyone else, shame there was no print outs so their wins will just fade away in the mists of time unlike the meet which will remain well documented till the end of time.
J Lee was adopting the "throw the bowl backwards between your legs" technique which as far as I could see was doing the job, Shyne and Jay were being their usual crazy selves and helping the white fluffy people knock down the pins, Speedy was ... well ... just being Speedy *BAN* and the rest of the guys n girls ... Minimadmax, Caddyman, Parallex, Andi and anyone I have forgotten (sorry peeps it's late as I am writing this) all seemed to be enjoy throwing themselves and the bowls down the lane at those pins of pleasure ooer missus.
Well I can say this was another great meet I wouldn't have expected anything less from the Girlsnmotors members so myself and vwmadgirl would like to thank you all for your attendance and making this ANOTHER great meet, roll on Redline Rumble on the 15th May 2005
