Max Power Live 2004 @ The NEC Birmingham
Max power live is always going to be a big well known show and as it’s held at the NEC in Birmingham you know that it’s going to be a big one and it certainly was.
We went up on the Friday and stayed at a hotel about 8 miles away from the NEC, and we spent the Friday night and Saturday just chilling out and catching up with Ricks brother , before we made our way to the NEC on the Sunday morning for max power live.
We was meant to be exhibiting Mr Skyline’s and Vwmadgirl’s cars on the Girlracer stand in the outside arena where there was a small fair ground and Terry Grant was doing his usual doughnut tricks in the Legend and TVR, which to be honest is starting to get boring watching it at EVERY SINGLE SHOW you go to ... get some new tricks Terry *from GirlsNMotors* anyway we decided that getting up at the crack of dawn (6am) was not really our idea of "good fun" so we were lazy and decided to stay in bed, and why the hell not I say it was paid for after all :oD
When we got to the NEC the car parks where packed so they were starting to open up more, which fortunately we were amongst the first to get into so there wasn’t much waiting time. We parked and caught the bus to the main NEC,as we walked into the main entrance there was ques of people waiting to get in and you could here the show in full swing in the distance.
We got our tickets and made our way into the show, where there was a good crowd already inside, the first car I spotted just as we walked in happened to be a vr6 cabby in orchid, which is what I want to do as my next project, but in a different colour..lol
We walked about taking some pics and looking at all the cars, there was some cool skyline’s there, one with a nice purge valve 2 Fast 2 Furious stylee, and we looked around the top 100 cars and walked about all the trade stands to see if there were any bargains to be had.
We had tickets to the drag strip and went and watch what they had in store for us, a few stunts, 3 wheeled vans, two which were doughnut’ing so furiously they rolled onto their roofs and had to be turned back over by the Marshalls ... lol skylines, rx7’s all showing us a spot of stunt driving and a good show of doughnuts.
We had some lunch from the greasy pizza / burger outlet which I have to say was "greasy" but hey filled a hole. While eating inside I managed to spot a bag of goodies some nice person had left behind for us, thank you sir, there was a nice pair of music sensitive neons for inside the car so Rick had those away very quickly and before I even blinked they were installed and looking rather "flashy" *boom boom*
We carried on round the show, caught up with a few boys from other forums like Cruiseherts and took a few more photos and made sure we had covered the 3 areas of the NEC that the show had covered before we made our way out and back to the car park where we managed to loose the car ... lol, we finally found it and made our way out for the journey home where we saw a lot of the cars that had been to the show on the motorway, making there way home aswell and a few wanting a little fun on the motorway and of course Rick couldn’t resist !!!
