Meanstreet Cruise 2004 @ Arena Essex Raceway Thurrock
I went to meanstreet cruise with a mate of mine who drives an M3 bmw, he jumped in my car (well not jumped as he is paralysed more slided) and off we went to Thurrock Services where we met up a load of other people before cruising to Essex Arena, which fortunately is right next to the services.
We arrived nice and early, in fact so damn nice and early the arena wasn't open for us to actually get into, so we all parked up outside the gate, had a walk about an snapped a few pictures as one does, and at this point I was gagging for the toilet, so I was hoping it wasn't going to be a long wait (knew I should have gone in the services).
Eventually the gates opened and we were allowed to go in, it was a bit of an issue getting in as the Liner is so low but with a lot of careful determination I managed to guide the car in and onto the stand, at this cruise I was on another club's stand as I am at many of the cruises up till now as co owner of Girlsnmotors.
Parking up and getting the stand sorted wasn't a HUGE issue as we were so early there wasn't masses of cars trying to get in, once we had parked up it was get out the marigolds (and yes there is a picture of me wearing them floating around the net somewhere) polishing the wheels and giving the car a final rub down ready for the hoards of people to look around the show.
The show was packed by early evening even though it decided to rain on us, not huge amounts but enough to have to sit in the car to avoid getting wet. Having spotted a line of cars waiting to get into the arena I checked it out and it seemed that it was a free for all pride parade, so I briskly jumped in the car and took it onto the arena, where I did two (very slippery laps) whilst the crowd was voting for the best cars, loads of magazines were there taking pictures as you would expect including some mates of mine form Fast Car. Eventually the winner of the pride parade was a Corsa with about ten million exhausts coming out the back, in my opinion there was much nicer cars there just goes to show what Essex boys know.
Was an overall good show apart from the weather letting us down, lots of activities to keep people entertained and some nice and some not so nice cars.
