Modified UK 2005 @ Rainham Kent

Modified UK 2005 @ Rainham Kent

Well it was a Sunday and an early start for the GirlsnMotors mob, fresh out of their asylum’s. After dragging ourselves up at stupid o’clock in the morning I hit the road with a little surprise with me for the rest of the gang and headed for the first meeting point at the A10. Armed with Red Bull and crazy music for the journey I landed at the Check Point just after the arranged time, thinking id missed my window of time, I tried contacting Paula but to know avail, but Minimad assured me they would be with me shortly.

Sitting in the slip road, looking in the mirror for the golfs of Caddyman and VWmadgirl I was suddenly stunned when a Gold R33 Skyline shot passed me at a speed that would give Concorde a run for its money on take off!! Closely on its tail was the Caddyman with the madgirl and hoody shu. We all jumped on the 25 and headed for the second meeting point to meet the rest of the bunch. We hadn’t even gone one junction when it was time for Jay to launch his little surprise, with Rick (big smile on his face) in leading in the R33 and Caddyman right behind him I slowly went to draw up next to him while the surprise phoned Minimad and hung up! the looks on there faces as I flew by with the one and only Miss J-Lee with me waving and laughing our heads off, Paula’s and Sarah’s faces were pictures!!!

We land at Thurrock where Alanna, Blondi and Pituff are already waiting for us, a time to catch up with everyone quickly and check the little dude out (had to make sure he was good) For such a stupid hour in the morning and especially it being a Sunday there was an aura in the service car park and as you looked around you could see what that was modified mayhem in every bay Kent Modified had Officially started!! After hanging around for a bit, we hit the road (as usual there always one person that forgets to fill up before err Blondi!!) a quick dash, after we got our bearings, nice detour though through a little cul-de-sac we hit the tolls and headed for the tunnel. You’ve got to love those tunnels when you’ve got modified cars going through them

Kent and after most of us make the final turn we landed at the gates and immediately spotted Steve VTS and Paul with his Scooby. Our stand was in a great location and while Rick Organised the display and Alanna came back from the car boot sale, the rest of us decided coffee was the order of the morning. Rick and I add a quick try at driving the lupo but both agreed yellow wasn’t our colour. We were then joined by Aaron in his 100nx and his mates with a nicely styled Blue Corsa. The show it self was over shadowed in the morning dew to the lack of sun by VW Madgirl and Blondi still did us proud when doing the charity bikini car wash, while Minimad decided that it would be an even better idea to soak them with the whole bucket!!

The afternoon brought with it the sun and the crowds, with the regular stands from Streetlife TV, Fuel and Cruise Sport the entertainment was always on and with stunt shows you always had something to do and see. Girls being girls and with your bunch you can’t really say no to any of them, they decided a group go on the bouncy castle would be fun. While the girls head on the guys were left safely outside, but the girls quickly spotted the advances of the guy running the ride who now had the biggest smile on his face with the sight of a group of stunning looking ladies on his ride. As the day drew to an end the crowds started to die down and we headed off at 4, while negotiating the exit as many of the cars on the day, sadly GnM suffered injuries on the exit with Rick and Paula, Aaron and myself all catching bumpers on the way out.

Another short convoyish up to the services where we stopped for a bite to eat, after another short burst through the tunnel. Sarah showed us how not to construct a tower out of giant chess pieces.

All in all a pretty good day for everyone, even if most of us didn't get home till late

Show Rating: 3 out of 5
