Mad Mechanic's Redline Rumble 2005 Review
Well it was the Saturday of Redline Rumble and the weather
looked less than favourable but I managed to drag myself
outta bed pack the motor up of all essentials and head off
to the meet point - to which I find that is had been
put back a couple of hours so decided to go shopping for
more JD at tesco's in Royston.
After acquiring all supplies for the weekend I took a
leisurely drive back to the meet point to enjoy a read of
sun - as I was getting to the exciting part of the paper
I kept hearing someone beeping my horn and after ignoring
it a few times I had a look around and found Blondi waving
at me (I have to confess at this point I had no idea who
she was LOL) So we stood around chatting for a while till
the others turned up then after a brief discussion about
the best way we set off. At this point poor old sam had
already arrived at Santa Pod and was awaiting us hehehe
We all took the drive quite slow as many people were over
filled and looked like they would loose quite a bit of
tread how ever disaster struck as we exited bedford we
found ourselves lost!!!! I blame the map reader hey rick
LOL But all was not lost as the drunk took the lead and
managed to get everyone to the pod in one piece.
As soon as we got to the pod and found our space it was
time to get down to the business at hand and I quickly set
up my chair and out came the alcohol and became foreman
giving directions and encouragement to everyone setting up
their tents. Although it didn't go too smoothly as the wind
was quite strong and poor steves and sarahs gazebo didn't
even make it.
Once all the tents were set up everyone soon was settled
with an alcoholic beverage (apart from paula) and was soon
being very horrible to people by hiding their alcohol :oP
I will get my revenge hehehe
After a few hours of hunting and drinking and basically
scaring a few people on the camp site I decided it was
time for bed and said good night to everyone.
I awoke bright and breezy at 7am to a glorious day and
eagerly awaited the start of the day and of course the
fuel girls hehehe
The stand was set up quiet quickly from my point of view
as I spent the first part of the morning taking a walk
around hoping to catch an early sitting or two of the talent.
As the day went on the sun got hotter and hotter and I got
redder and redder and after a few hours was as red as a beetroot
but saw some top motors and some good strip action - Roll
on the next show is what I say
