Main Redline Rumble 2005 Show Report
And so it was the day after the night before, slowly and surely the Girlsnmotors members started crawling out of their sleeping holes looking a little worse for wear (Andy aka Mad Mechanic springs to mind) but with a glint in their eyes in anticipation of the forthcoming first car show for Girlsnmotors as a club.
Caddyman and Minimadgirl cracked out the BBQ and distributed the bacon and sausage sandwiches out in order to help with hangovers and gather strength to get the cars washed and polished ready to get out on the Santa Pod pitt where the Girlsnmotors stand was for the Redline Rumble 2005 show
The rest of the guys soon started arriving first up was one of Girlsnmotors babes MissR5 in her Modified Renault 5 with a very quick Uno Turbo in tow and a couple of other cars including AJ and his other half’s Smart Car. Very close behind followed Alanna another Girlsnmotors babe followed by a very tidy black Ferrari 355 Spider owned by Forza and another Smart car and a Civic amongst a few other cars, this was the Milton Keynes crew.
Having thought we would only have thirteen cars turn up we quickly realised that we were actually going to be pushed for space as we had around twenty to twenty five cars, this meant it would take some very careful planning to get the best cars on the show stand.
After a little bit of hanging about we got a few of the better cars together to start arranging the stand, I jumped in with Paula and the rest of the cars followed us to the strip.
Our stand was just up from where the Fuel girls stand was, which was in about the best location we could have asked for, at this point that we realised Redline Rumble 2005 was going to be an awesome show. After shuffling all the cars about furiously we managed to get all the cars on the stand perfectly, with Sam’s, Steve’s and John’s golfs together with the highly modified Citroen Xsara, Amanda’s and Alanna’s cars up one side and the Civic the Astra a smart car and a few other’s up the other side, with the pierre de resistance of Jay’s Skyline R34 GTT and Brian’s Ferrari 355 Spider pointing towards Paula’s Volkswagen VR6 in the centre topping the stand off perfectly.
Soon enough the girls wearing Girlsnmotors pink t-shirts and (very) short denim skirts started popping out of the woodwork and Amanda (missR5) was our only blonde babe in hotpants, as the day went on she managed to grab the attention of many magazine photographers desperate to get pictures of her sprawled over the Ferrari and Skyline, and fair play to her.
The rest of the girls however managed to attract huge amounts of enthusiasts as they walked about the Redline show handing out the Girlsnmotors flyers and lollipops and doing some amazing PR for the site, so big thanks to Alanna, Amanda, Sarah, Carla, Sarah, Lisa and Paula for doing their bit, people will be talking about the Girlsnmotors babes at Redline Rumble 2005 for years to come.
There was plenty of other action at the show including some of the finest drifting by the Driftworks team and obviously there was the customary Redline wet t shirt competition while on the quarter mile drag strip there was plenty of action alongside the god of pod competition which some serious cars were running some very serious ten second times and as always the Fire Force jet car team were putting in some seriously quick times, (videos coming soon).
All in all this was a fantastic show and considering Redline Rumble 2005 was the first ever show for Girlsnmotors we couldn’t have asked for a better turn out to show what an amazing community Girlsnmotors has become, this is the first of many shows as far as we are concerned, a big thank you for all those that were involved.
