Redline Rumble ~ Santa Pod 17th May 04
Redline rumble started with us having to leave modified nationals on the sunday morning after packing up our tent and making our way from billing to santa pod, and after not very many hours sleep the night before we was knackard before we had even got to redline , we left about 8 am so we could get there before the show started and get the skyline on to the stand.
When we arrived the place was already busy and plenty of people was waiting at the gate to come into redline rumble, We got our pass to get onto the stand and made our way to the main strip where the stands where , we had prime postion the first stand before the trade stands, it was a really hot already so we knew we was in for a good day.
We had a look round and you could find the usual drag cars including fireforce,who was getting ready there drag car to do the ,strip action and trade stands,the usual redline rumble stand pumping out music and doing there usual acts on the stage including a wet t-shirt comp, dancing and give aways.
I was asked to enter the wet t-shirt comp and as it was such a hot day i thought why the hell not, so i went to the stage at 3pm as i was told and got changed into the redline t-shirt and waited to be called up, took my place on the stage and then waited for my turn to be soaked, it was nice to be cooled off in that way on such a hot day .
Then i went and watched some of the 1/4 mile action where i watched rick race john in his rover turbo, he did quite well !! And watched a few more cars run before going for a look about the rest of the stands and trade stalls, we then saw the bungee ball and thought we would give it ago, wasnt sure if we was doing the right thing or not to be honest but its something i had never done so i thought what the hell cant be that bad!!
We sat in the ball and was strapped in and lowered backwards,the all of a sudden it was let go......... didnt seem to bad as we went upwards, until it turned upside down and we went back down and up again, whilst spinning around , now it was bad!!! we was lowered down and let off and i felt like i left my stomach up in the sky it took both of us a good few hours to get over that and we didnt feel like eating for awhile thats for sure..
Redline was a great end to a great weekend where we camped at modified nationals, and the weather had been spot on and really made the day, looking forward to redline rumble 2005 ...
